about greg
I consider myself an abstract expressionist.I work many paintings at once, building layer upon layer of paint, sometimes taking months or even years to complete each work.
My paintings represent my life experiences, senses and emotions. My latest collection, in particular was completed during a transition period in my life. The colors are brighter than I normally use and I did some experimenting with pastels, fluorescents, spray paint and black to make the colors pop.
Among the artists that inspire and influence my work are Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Hans Hoffman, Basquiat, Matisse, Picasso, Monet, Paul Klee, and Kandinsky. Themes of nature and urban decay strongly energize my work.
My work is currently on exhibit at Bella Luna in Jamaica Plain.
Previous exhibits include the Piano Craft Guild in Boston, Massachusetts and the Mumford Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts where I was a featured artist. Actress/comedienne Rosie O’Donnell is among the collectors of my work.
